working in the City District Police, Multan.
Earlier, he commanded the District Police, M B Din as District Police Officer
for about 15 months. As Sub-divisional Police Officer, he has served in the T

Rawalpindi is a city in the
Potwar Plateau near the national capital city of Islamabad. It is one of the fastest growing
cities and has witnessed unprecedented growth of population over the years.
This ultimately manifests in the form of increased traffic load on the roads.
Since June 2008, the Traffic Warden System (TWS) has been
formally launched in Rawalpindi
city and cantonment and the tourist resort Murree. This was the move of
Government of Punjab, meant to modernize the traffic management system. The
first batch of traffic wardens has been given service-oriented training with
the Motorway Police besides special training at
Elite Force
Training School to
combat street crimes. Subsequently, City Traffic Police Rawalpindi was also
assigned the task of managing traffic in the rural area of the district.
The top priority of City Traffic Police Rawalpindi is to
provide full road safety to the road users, be it from the anti-social
behaviors of joy riders and one-wheelers or over speeding cars and buses
plying on the highways. Such elements will find us really tough. I want
people who travel in this city to feel safe and be safe.
I never lose sight of the fact that the City Traffic Police,
Rawalpindi
needs the local community on board, working with us and supporting our
officers and staff. In return, people of this city have a right to expect a
level of service from the police, which matches their expectations.
It’s important for you to know the CTP is on your side. We are here to
help and to make you safer. It is the core of our business.
Our
mission: Working together
for safer city roads.
Our
value: We will have pride
in delivering quality traffic policing. There is no greater priority other
than service delivery.
(Dr.
Muhammad Akhtar Abbas, Chief Traffic Officer, Rawalpindi).
